Inside the Oisellerie du Pont Neuf, four cats have become the store’s main “staff,” each carrying out their roles with charm and grace.
First, there’s Carlita, the distinguished feline in charge of the first cash register. She skillfully handles transactions and ensures every customer gets her full attention. 😸
Nearby, Raoul keeps a watchful eye over the second cash register, his keen senses alert to any customer in need of assistance.
You’ll also meet Sarco, a cat with a keen eye for comfort. He “tests” the cat houses and beds on offer and makes sure each one meets his high standards. Only the coziest spots make it to the shelves.
Finally, there is Frimousse, a mischievous yet loyal feline who takes on the important responsibility of safeguarding the fish section. With a vigilant gaze, Frimousse deters any potential fishy thieves and guarantees that the aquatic residents remain undisturbed and secure.

Eight years of feline excellence
The first feline employees arrived at Oisellerie du Pont Neuf about eight years ago. Over time, younger cats joined the group, and their lively energy balances the calm confidence of the older cats.
The store is their home now. However, some cats leave for short trips along the Seine, fully at ease in the city they have claimed as their own.

Update
In 2017, the store faced a court ruling and were found guilty of selling marmosets to private individuals. These primates are classified as “dangerous species” under French law, and only authorized breeding or public exhibition facilities can legally keep them. The store has since permanently closed its doors.
