1886 Crescent Hotel & Spa – Eureka Springs, Arkansas
Many people associate the history of the 1886 Crescent Hotel in Arkansas as a sanatorium during the early 20th century with tales of patients who suffered and perished there.
Dr. Norman Baker was a notorious charlatan and unlicensed physician who used this grand building as a cancer treatment center in the 1930s. However, his treatments were far from genuine, and many patients endured immense agony and met their end within these walls.
Their anguished spirits are believed to linger, casting an eerie pall over the hotel.
Reports of spectral figures clad in early 20th-century attire wandering the hotel’s dimly lit corridors abound. Unexplained sounds, such as mournful cries and phantom footsteps, echo through the hallways.
The morgue is especially notorious for its paranormal activity. It’s said that the energy from the past converges in this room.
The Crescent Hotel’s macabre past and its persistent connection to the supernatural world have cemented its reputation as the most haunted hotel in America.
Not only is the 1886 Crescent Hotel home to several cats of its own (including ghost cats!), you can also bring your own feline friend for an additional fee of $35 per night.

The Myrtles – St. Francisville, Louisiana
Myrtles Plantation in St. Francisville, Louisiana, dates back to the late 18th century. It is known for its beautiful antebellum architecture and is often referred to as one of the most haunted homes in America.
One of the most famous legends associated with Myrtles Plantation is the story of Chloe, a slave who allegedly poisoned members of the Woodruff family in the 19th century.
According to the legend, Chloe had been involved in a romantic relationship with a member of the family and, feeling spurned, she poisoned a birthday cake. Chloe’s fellow slaves supposedly hanged her as punishment, and her ghost is said to haunt the plantation.
There are other reported ghostly occurrences at Myrtles Plantation, including unexplained footsteps, strange sounds, and sightings of apparitions.
The house has been the subject of numerous paranormal investigations and has gained a reputation as a hotspot for paranormal activity.

You don’t reach over three centuries of existence without accumulating a few spectral tales. New Orleans is renowned for having its share of otherworldly phenomena, with some asserting that Hotel Provincial may have its own haunting stories to tell.
Hotel Provincial played a unique role during the Civil War as it served as a hospital for wounded Confederate soldiers. Legend has it that a security guard once exited the elevator onto the second floor only to find himself amidst a frantic hospital scene reminiscent of Gone with the Wind.

One eerie account revolves around Mary Todd Lincoln, the wife of President Abraham Lincoln. In 1865, she brought her children to the Equinox.
