Finding the right place to stay in France isn’t always easy, but I’ve taken out the guesswork. After traveling across the country and staying in dozens of different spots, I’ve pulled together a list of the top hotels with cats—places where you’ll get more than just a bed for the night.
This isn’t your standard roundup of the “best hotels in France.”
Every place here shares one unique thing: they believe travel is better with a furry friend. Whether you’re checking into a luxury hotel, a centuries-old château, or a cozy bed-and-breakfast, you’ll be greeted by a resident cat ready to keep you company.
Top hotels with cats in France
Le Bristol, Paris
- Address: Le Bristol, 112 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, 75008 Paris, France.
- Book here!
The most famous cat-friendly hotel in France is undoubtedly Le Bristol in Paris, which is currently home to a fluffy Birman named Socrate (previous felines include his ancestors Fa-raon and Kleopatre). Chances are you’ll meet this famous feline as soon as you enter the lobby or the hotel’s Café Antonia.
But staying in this cat’s home comes at a price.
Located on the prestigious Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, Hotel Le Bristol is one of the most luxurious accommodations in Paris. Its service is impeccable (even for the four-legged companions you bring along), and its Michelin-starred restaurant has a long-standing reputation as one of the finest in the city.
Casual visits of the hotel and Socrate are not allowed. Count on a minimum of 2,000 euros per night per person, if you want to meet Socrate.

Les Pins d’Alep, Le Cannet
- Address: Les Pins d’Alep, 12 Rue de Madrid, 06110 Le Cannet, France.
- Book here!
I’m currently in Cannes, France, where I’m attending the Cannes Film Festival. I’m staying in an accommodation apartment called Les Pins d’Alep by Interhome, which is located in Le Cannet, just outside of Cannes.
The kitty from the pictures below greets me every evening when I come home from the film festival. Be sure to visit him too if you’re in the area.
Other reasons why might want to stay at this three-star apartment:
- Spacious living area with two bedrooms
- Large balcony
- Fully equipped kitchen
- Dishwasher and washing machine
- Free private parking
- Comfortably decorated
The apartment is respectively 2.2 km and 2.4 km away from the Palais des Festivals Beach and La Croisette Beach.
Be an early bird if you want to stay here, because the apartments are usually all booked a year in advance. You will also need to stay for a minimum of three nights (which will cost you around 460 euros).

Abbey of Reigny, Vermenton
- Address: Abbey of Reigny, Reigny, 89270 Vermenton, France.
- Book here!
This former Cistercian monastery was founded in the 12th century, around 1189, and was dedicated to Saint Michael.
Over the centuries, the abbey went through periods of prosperity and decline. Like many monastic institutions, it was affected by various historical events, including the French Revolution, during which it was confiscated and sold as national property.
Nowadays, Abbey of Reigny – also known as Abbaye Saint-Michel de Reigny – serves as a guest-house and as a top location for weddings, seminars, and receptions.
You’ll be wrong not to stay here if you’re ever visiting the Burgundian land, because the abbey is home to a white and grey kitty which will gladly show you around the property and the remains of the church, cloister, and other architectural elements.
There’s a possibility to stay in either rooms (two tot five people) or fully privatizable cottages (for up to 11 people).

Château de Barive, Sainte-Preuve
- Address: Domaine de Barive, 02350 Sainte-Preuve, France.
- Book here!
In Sainte-Preuve, in the heart of the French Champagne region, is a four-star hotel called Château de Barive, also known as Domaine de Barive.
Many stay at this former castle to enjoy its gorgeous interiors and spa, or to try the restaurant’s renowned meat and fish dishes.
But the best part… The hotel has two cats, which will instantly welcome you as you enter the domain.
Prices start at around 175 to 200 euros per night.

Château de l’Épinay, Saint-Georges-sur-Loire
- Address: Château de L’Epinay, L’Epinay, 49170 Saint-Georges-sur-Loire, France.
- Book here!
Another French castle where you might want to spend the night is Château de l’Epinay, nestled in the landscapes of the Loire Valley.
This boutique hotel stands as a testament to the grandeur of 18th-century French architecture and has undergone many renovations over the past years.
There’s much to explore around the castle and beyond, but chances are you’ll want to stay inside to spend quality time with Château de l’Epinay’s two resident cats: Leo and Blackie.
A room here starts at around 200 euros per night per person.

If you’re trekking through the north of France, you may not want to miss spending the night in the company of Enzo and Kali, the two resident felines of B&B Au Gallodrome in Drincham.
These cats will sit with you as you drink a local beer in front of the stove, observe you from a (short) distance as you eat, and even sleep in your bed at night.

Eiffel Seine Hotel, Paris
- Address: Eiffel Seine Hotel, 3 Bd de Grenelle, 75015 Paris, France.
- Book here!
Were you considering booking the Eiffel Seine Hotel because it’s only three minutes away from the Eiffel Tower?
Perhaps the rave reviews praising its continental breakfast, fitness room, and welcoming atmosphere caught your attention?
Allow me to give you an even better reason to choose a stay at Eiffel Seine: the presence of Bulette, an adorable tabby who frequents the hotel lobby and bar and eagerly welcomes cuddles.
Prices start at around 300 euros per night.

Castille Paris
- Address: Castille Paris, 33-37 Rue Cambon, 75001 Paris, France.
- Book here!
Another hotel in the French capital that you might want to check out is Castille Paris, located near Place Vendôme.
This hotel blends classic French architecture with contemporary comforts. It features a refined décor and impeccable service, offering a quintessential Parisian experience. Everything here creates an atmosphere of opulence and tranquility.
The on-site restaurant, L’Assaggio, serves up Italian dishes in a courtyard that feels worlds away from the busy streets outside.
Of course, the real star of the show is Heliot, the hotel’s resident cat and L’Asaggio’s biggest fan. He’s known to charm guests with photo ops—and sneak a treat from the chef when no one’s looking.
Rooms here start around 700 euros per night.
