Which cities are obsessed with cats? Discover the worldâs 10 best cities for cat lovers, and find out why you wonât be able to stay away. đŸ
If someone tells me they went to a place and it was absolutely teeming with cats, I instantly make a mental note to go visit that place myself.
Some of the most memorable travel moments come from unexpected encounters with local cats. No matter how beautiful or historically significant a place, cats just make it better. Itâs a little bit like Christmas. No matter where you are, the more decorations you see, the prettier the place feels. With cats, itâs exactly the same.
If cities kept official cat census numbers, a few places would be filing some suspiciously high statistics. These are the cities where cats donât just liveâthey influence the vibe, the daily rituals, and sometimes even the local politics. Letâs take a look at the worldâs most unapologetically cat-saturated urban centers.

Hello,
Sounds like a great book for the cat owners. Have a wonderful weekend.
I’m a cat lover, but in my case I try and avoid countries with large feral cat populations because I find it too heartbreaking. It’s fantastic in locations where there are colony caretakers and cats are fixed and cared for, but sadly that’s not the case in too many places so unless I’ll be going to volunteer, I stay away. I know most people don’t see it the way I do so your e book will be a lovely guide for anyone planning their next getaway with cats in mind.
I’m sure this will be a successful ebook for folks who want to travel to cat-friendly cities this year with their kitty. A great idea! Congrats on creating it!
Did you know that there’s a cat colony living at the Colosseum in Rome and that’s why they have cat doors in the gates! Learned about it from our tour guide. Check out my Instagram Post (my family is especially in love with the song and I think you’ll appreciate it too!).

If I ever get to travel, I’ll come talk to you!
Great ideas! I grew up with cats and I never thought of choosing a place mostly or only because it has many cats or is somehow cat related. Thanks for the inspo!
A delightful idea for an ebook. Exploring cities through the lens of cat culture, where felines seem to have claimed their place. Sounds like a charming and insightful guide for cat lovers who enjoy discovering destinations with, a more character filled side.
We have often visited cities that are well known for large bands of cats. But never thought to seek out cities known for cats. I am sure there are lots of people who would want to visit all the cities you identified. But also some people who might avoid them!
Wow. I don’t have nor I ever had a cat. But I imagine traveling with a cat would be easier than with a dog. But I have no idea đ I certainly appreciate people traveling and taking their dogs or cats along instead of leaving them behind.
I love cats and meeting new cat friends when I travel!
Sounds like a great resource for cat lovers who also love to travel! I bet there’s nothing else like it.
What a wonderful idea for an Ebook – Congrats! I bet it will be hugely successful and helpful to cat families. I Pinned it to share with others to my Mews News board!
Such a smart idea for an ebook as people should be able to travel with their cats as they are family too.
Everywhere I’ve ever travelled I’ve come across lots of cats, mainly across Northern Africa and the Middle East.
Thanks for joining in with #pocolo
