Are you looking for a cozy café with a furry twist? Look no further than Chapristea,
This cat café in the heart of Toulouse, France, has quickly become a beloved destination for both locals and tourists. It offers a unique experience with its charming atmosphere, delicious drinks, and lots of resident cats.
Welcome to Chapristea in Toulouse, France
Toulouse is the fourth-largest city of France. Most people visit to see the Basilica of Saint-Sernin, one of the largest Romanesque churches in Europe, and the Jacobins Convent, famous for its palm-shaped columns. Others prefer to enjoy the wide views, golden sunsets, and lively quays of the Garonne river banks. The city’s warm-pink terracotta bricks give it the nickname La Ville Rose (Pink City).
But if you’re a cat lover, a trip to Toulouse would never be complete without a visit to its bar à chats: Chapristea.
This cat café is filled with a bunch of cats that wander freely, climb the shelves, and nap on the customers’ laps.
And the best part is… customers can adopt a cat and bring it home.

Adoptable cats

The cafe partners with a local animal shelter, Le Chat Libre de Toulouse, to make several of their cats available for adoption.
The cats that permanently stay at the cat café were chosen based on their ability to live comfortably with large groups of both cats and people.
However, certain rules apply on how to behave with the cats. For example, customers are not allowed to pick up the cats, to wake them up, feed them, or to photograph them using a flashlight.
