Cat Cafe Melbourne was Australia’s very first cat cafe.

Grounded Paws Animal Rescue operates as a foster network in Victoria’s Gippsland region. They help rehome cats and dogs from Latrobe Municipal Pound in Traralgon.
Recently, they opened a cat cafe and lounge aimed at socializing shy cats and promoting community education.
Both the cafe and lounge are housed in separate buildings but share the same address.

The recently opened Jiji Rescue Cat Cafe in North Willoughby aims to reduce the number of animals euthanized in Australia, which totals about 200,000 dogs and cats each year.

Pokemeow Cafe opened in early 2020.
It’s home to around nine resident cats, including Ragdolls and a few sleek hairless breeds, all living their best cafe life. Unlike some other cat cafes, these felines aren’t up for adoption. They’re permanent residents who love the company of regular visitors.
The cafe itself serves a hearty all-day brunch menu, with favorites like bacon and egg rolls, truffle bacon pasta, and steak sandwiches, alongside quality coffee and desserts.

Yumiao cat cafe in Sydney collaborates with pet care specialists to provide rescue cats with medical attention, thus extending their lives.
The cafe also aims to create a stress-free sanctuary for these cats, complete with runways, cat condos, cat toys, and lots of love from patrons.
Upon entering the cafe, you’ll be provided with shoe covers to protect the cats from germs.

Crazy Cat Cafe opened in September 2016 inside the old Centre Arcade, right behind the Hilton Surfers Paradise Hotel.
It’s the only fully licensed cat cafe in Australia and the only one that welcomes children of all ages.
The cafe is home to 23 feline residents. You can spend time with them in the cat lounge or during VIP cuddle sessions, while sipping a barista coffee or a cheeky cocktail or grabbing a bite from their menu.
There’s an outdoor area overlooking Surfers Paradise Boulevard that is separate from the cat and VIP lounge.
With purrs, paws, and paradise views, this is the Gold Coast’s most unique cafe experience.

Founded by Nina Wang, SupermarCat Cat Cafe is home to around a dozen resident cats.
However, unlike some other cat cafes, they are not up for adoption. They’re permanent residents, carefully selected to spend time with guests.
On the cafe side, SupermarCat offers a full espresso menu alongside brunch-style dishes, including toasties, pastries, and desserts, with a focus on quality local produce.
The cat lounge is a separate, bookable area where visitors can enjoy time with the cats in a calm, softly lit space decorated with pastel tones and feline-themed touches.
