The Cat Café (Bugis)
The Cat Café in Bugis houses 15 rescue cats, mostly re-homed strays. These cats are generally older adults, often between 8 and 15 years old, which makes them calm and mellow. This is their permanent home, so they are not up for adoption.
They are located on the 3rd floor of a shophouse (no lift).
Parking is available at Bugis+ or Bugis Junction, and the café sits just a 2-minute, 100-metre walk from Bugis MRT Station.
They currently have a second outlet at the Rail Mall. However, they have announced that it will close permanently in March 2026. Many of the resident cats will either be re-homed or moved to the Bugis location — a few might be available for adoption. If you want to visit the Rail Mall location before March 2026, you can reserve your spot here.

Practical tips
Getting around
The best way to get around Singapore is by using the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) system. It’s fast, clean, affordable, and connects almost every part of the city, including popular neighborhoods, cat cafés, shopping districts, and attractions.
Where to stay in Singapore?
If you want to visit cat cafés in Singapore, the Central and East Region are the best areas to stay in.
Central Region
This includes neighborhoods like Bugis, Little India, Jalan Besar, Redhill, Kampong Glam, River Valley, and Orchard.
Many popular cat cafés are clustered here: Meomi Cat Café, The Cat Café Bugis, Catopia, GEM Cat Café, Meownistry of Meow, Wildflower Studio, and TrulyDolls Catxperience.
Staying in the Central Region also gives you easy access to public transport, plenty of restaurants, shopping, and cultural sites.
It’s also the most frequently recommended area for first-time visitors to Singapore because you can walk to attractions, MRT stations are frequent, and taxis or buses are readily available.
Recommended hotels in this area are:
- Cube Boutique Capsule Hotel (Kampong Glam): Budget hotel offering stylish, capsule-style accommodation. (compare prices: Booking.com / Agoda)
- Hotel NuVe (Bugis / Kampong Glam): 3-star boutique hotel blending heritage charm with minimalist design. It sits just a few minutes’ walk from Bugis MRT and the cultural attractions of Kampong Glam. (compare prices: Booking.com / Agoda)

East Region
This covers Geylang, Joo Chiat, Marine Parade, and nearby areas.
Cat cafés like NekoTown, SGCatHouse, Cat Paradise, Pat-A-Cat, and The Cat Museum / Kitten Sanctuary are located here.
This area is slightly further from the main tourist hubs but gives a more local, colorful vibe with heritage shophouses, street food, and a more laid-back atmosphere. It’s great if you want to explore more traditional neighborhoods and eateries.
The following hotels are worth checking out:
- Hotel 81 (Orchid / Geylang): No-frills budget hotel. It offers basic comfort in a very accessible location close to Geylang and public transport. (compare prices: Booking.com / Agoda)

This was such an interesting read. This is actually my first time hearing about a cat cafe, and I think the whole idea is pretty cool, especially with the focus on adoption. The Bugis location sounds super convenient, and it is nice to know the cats from the Rail Mall outlet will be re-homed or moved.
What a charming guide — I loved how you detailed the vibe and rules of each cat café in Singapore, making it easy to decide which one to visit when I’m in town.
Such a fun and helpful guide! I haven’t been to Singapore yet, but this makes me want to plan an entire cat-café day when I finally go. Fluffydolls Catfe sounds adorable, and Catopia in Jalan Besar looks like such a cozy spot too. Saving this list for a future Singapore trip!
I had no idea there were so many cat cafés in Singapore. I missed these on my first visit–hopefully will have a chance for a return trip.
Being a cat lover this is right up my alley (cat)!
If I ever get to Singapore, I know I will visit a cat cafe. Meanwhile, one is supposed to open near here, it ought to be interesting.
