Meet Matisse, an adorable Scottish Fold cat with impressive talents as both a “hairdresser” and a “PR manager.” Teaming up with his owner, Sara Norelli, Matisse brings his skills to Rebelle, a beauty salon and barber shop in the heart of Vicenza, a city in the Veneto region of northern Italy.
This is an installment in a photo series by Marianna Zampieri, called C-AT WORK, featuring cats in the workplace.
Matisse the Scottish Fold is stealing hearts at Vicenza’s Rebelle beauty salon

PR cat
As the esteemed PR cat at Rebelle, Matisse takes his job seriously. He fulfills his responsibilities with utmost dedication. This starts by welcoming everyone to the salon with charm and grace.
But he also knows that stress can negatively impact hair and skin health, so he makes sure to incorporate regular relaxation practices into his clientele’s visits. These include showing genuine affection and giving cuddles, gentle head bumps, and enjoying long lap sessions with clients. He’s a real sweetheart.
Matisse makes the Rebelle beauty salon a peaceful and calm place.
Clients feel at ease, knowing they’re in the capable paws of Matisse as they embark on their transformative hair journey.
He has this amazing talent to comfort and connect with people on a deep level. It turns every salon visit into more than just a haircut – it’s an experience.
His presence shows how incredible the bond between cats and humans can be.
Matisse and Sara
However, there is a special bond that surpasses all others in Matisse’s life – his unwavering devotion to his human companion, Sara.
Their connection is truly heartwarming to witness. Matisse’s love for Sara knows no bounds, as he showers her with affection and demonstrates his deep devotion in every single interaction they share.
Their connection is evident in the way Matisse’s eyes light up when he catches a glimpse of Sara. It is in the way he eagerly follows her every move, always keeping a watchful eye, as if making sure she is safe and protected.
To capture the special connection between Matisse and Sara, photographer Marianna Zampieri used her talent to immortalize their unique bond.
Her skillful photography captured the moments of joy, trust, and creativity that define the remarkable relationship between this Scottish Fold and his devoted human companion.

C-AT WORK
Matisse stands out among the ensemble of working cats immortalized by Marianna Zampieri. Within her portfolio, we encounter an array of feline muses who have wholeheartedly embraced their distinctive roles in a myriad of settings.
In her previous projects, Zampieri photographed the cats of the Classense Library in Ravenna, a series which captured the essence of the library’s resident cats, documenting their graceful presence among the shelves of books.
Zampieri also directed her camera lens towards the gorgeous Library of High Water (Aqua Alta Libreria) in Venice. In this series, she took pictures of the feline employees hanging out among the book-filled shelves, adding an extra touch of magic to this already amazing place.
Equally mesmerizing are Zampieri’s evocative series depicting the feline “manager” of the Oliveti stationary store in Vicenza and the cat that takes charge at the Cat Sound Studio in Badia Polesine.
All of these projects beautifully showcase the unique roles cats play in their respective workplaces.
