Cat-titude Cat Café in London

Cat-titude is the newest cat café in the city. It opened in late June 2025 in the Battersea/South London area.

Instead of simply hosting cats temporarily for adoption or short stays, the café gives its resident cats a permanent home.

They offer standard café fare, such as coffee, tea, and simple food and snacks in the area upstairs (without cats). The cat lounge is accessed with a booked session.

While walk-ins may be possible, Cat-titude strongly recommends booking your visit to the cat lounge in advance here because spaces are limited.

Java Whiskers in London

This well-known chain of cat cafés has two different establishments in London – one in Marleybone and one in White City (as well as a cat café in Sweden with a very hygge vibe).

Apart from being a foster home for rescue kitties, Java Whiskers is also a café with a warm environment for you to unwind after a day out, all while enjoying the comforting presence of our feline friends.

Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium in East London was the first cat café in London. It’s well known for its savory High Tea options and its distinctive décor reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland.

Whiskers and Cream in London

The cat café Whiskers & Cream combines an afternoon tea and a cat café in Upper Holloway in central London.

Many of the customers that come to this venue go for their afternoon tea experience. There is another menu that has sandwiches and small pastries, if you want to do that instead, but their afternoon tea is fantastic.

All the cats at this London cat café are rescues. They are not available for adoption, though. The cats even have merch!

The staff is focused on the cats’ safety, allowing them plenty of space to hide. Still, we’ve always seen most of the cats out there hanging out and playing when we’ve been there!

By the way, Whiskers and Cream is only steps away from the cozy Charlotte Despard, home to one of the coolest pub cats of London: Legz.

This cat café opened in May 2023. It is located in the heart of Canterbury, a beautiful historical city well known among tourists for its rich history, stunning cathedral, and charming medieval streets.

Canterbury Tails’ family of feline friends includes 20 adorable cats, all of whom were rehomed after facing dreadful situations.

Children under the age of eight are not allowed at the café.

Kiko’s Cat Café in Rye

Opened in 2023, Kiko’s Cat Café set out to rescue and rehome as many cats as possible. You can get to know the resident cats in a relaxed café setting, all while enjoying a hot coffee, a chilled drink, or a snack.

Kiko’s Cat Café sits in Rye, often described as the most haunted town in England.

If you’re looking to stay nearby, The Mermaid Inn is a popular choice and is said to be one of the most haunted hotels in the UK. Cats are welcome there too. So, if you happen to adopt a cat during your visit, you could bring your new family member along for the night. Just let the staff know in advance that you’ll have a cat staying over.

This cat café in Tonbridge, a market town in the county of Kent, charges an entry fee of £10 per person per hour. For that price, you can immerse yourself in the therapeutic company of the cats and enjoy the café’s famous cakes and coffees.

All the feline residents at Paws Cat Café are rescues. They are not up for adoption, though, so the cat café is their permanent home. However, they do help people find the right rescues and cats.

Munchies’ Craft Cat Café and Tapas Bar in Brighton is a cozy safe haven for cats and cat lovers. The bright and welcoming environment enhances the experience, making it a favorite for locals and tourists.

The café itself is clean and hygienic but relatively small. The downstairs is inaccessible for those with mobility issues.

The furry friends have either been adopted or rescued. However, they are not currently available for adoption. The café is working with local shelters to offer this service in the future. Booking is advised for visiting this cat café.

This cat café opened its doors in 2019 but changed ownership in 2022.

Bag Of Nails in Bristol

Landlord Luke Daniels wants to clarify that Bag Of Nails is a pub with cats, not a cat pub. He doesn’t like it compared to all the other cat cafés where cats are the main attraction. He wants to focus on the great beers he serves, his collection of vinyl records, and the many board games available at the pub.

However, it’s 24 (!) cats are the reason why Bag Of Nails has become so famous.

However, here’s a tip: if you come armed with toys and Dreamies (provided by the establishment), you’re sure to win their affection.

Make your time at Paws and Purs memorable by booking a delightful Cornish afternoon tea. This package comes with an array of goodies, including sandwiches, cake, sausage rolls, and a scone with clotted cream and jam. But be mindful of the cats—they have a soft spot for clotted cream.

Coffee Cats in Lincoln

The historic city of Lincoln in England is best known for its spectacular cathedral, which was once the tallest building in the world. However, few people know that the city is also home to one of the UK’s only cat cafés working entirely with rescue animals.

Coffee Cats was first opened in 2019 by a family who wanted to support local rescue shelters in a way that would also engage the public. When the pandemic arrived the following year, the café managed to pull through after introducing a “sponsor a cat” scheme, which had an amazing response from the community.

After growing in popularity, Coffee Cats moved to a prime city-center spot near the foot of Lincoln’s famous Steep Hill, once crowned as the “best place in Britain”. It’s the perfect place to pop in for a locally ground coffee and delicious homemade cake in between exploring the quirky independent shops and Roman ruins up the sloping hill.

The café also helps with re-homing, and some resident cats are available for adoption.

Omg, these are so cute, I would have a hard time deciding which one to visit. I guess I’ll just have to visit all of them then 😅 Too bad some are permanently closed though.
