The Book Buyers Library in Charlotte, NC, is more than just shelves of stories. It’s a community favorite filled with charm, warmth, and a dash of feline magic.
The star of the show?
A tuxedo cat named Page, who turns this little library into something truly unforgettable.
Meet Page, the cat from the Book Buyers Library in Charlotte, NC
From dumpster to library
Page’s journey started in an unexpected place: a dumpster behind the library.
She was found there as a tiny, helpless kitten, fighting for survival.
Luckily, the compassionate staff at Book Buyers Library came to her rescue. They coaxed her out and gave her the care she needed.
It didn’t take long for Page to warm up to her new family. Before anyone knew it, she had made the bookstore her forever home.
Feline PR specialist
Once Page settled in, her personality truly began to shine.
With her sharp tuxedo markings and confident attitude, she quickly became the unofficial greeter of the library.
Customers adored her.
Her charm soon also found its way online.
She “took over” the library’s social media accounts.
Her posts were a mix of adorable photos, witty cat commentary, and the occasional book recommendation — all with a healthy dose of cattitude.
It wasn’t long before Page became more than just the store cat; she was a local celebrity and a beloved part of the Book Buyers experience.

Serious cattitude
However, customer relations isn’t exactly Page’s specialty. 😹
The library employees describe her as “a tuxedo cat with a lot of personality and some serious cattitude.”
She loves interacting with customers, but only “from afar.”
A prominently displayed message on the shop window serves as a friendly reminder to customers, urging them to approach Page with utmost care and respect: “I scratch and bite. Please don’t touch or annoy me. (or call me fat, or ask me if I’m pregnant)”
Though Page may not be the typical “customer relations expert,” she rules her little library in Charlotte with quiet authority.

Spending time at Book Buyers Library
Mostly, however, Page prefers spending her time in the company of… her favorite books. Amidst the hallowed shelves of the Book Buyers library is where Page finds solace and contentment.
On occasion, she even surprises patrons by curling up with a book about dogs, showcasing her insatiable curiosity and open-mindedness.
It’s as if Page has absorbed the knowledge and stories contained within the pages, making her the purrfect reading companion.
