The newest major cat cafe in Texas opened in 2026. Right now, it functions more as a cat lounge and adoption space than a traditional cafe, with the owners still working through some of the operational hurdles that affect food service around free-roaming cats. The cats are all adoptable.
The real advantage is the location. Denton has one of the most distinctive downtown squares in Texas, plus a strong live-music scene that feels noticeably different from Dallas or Fort Worth.

The Casual Cat Cafe focuses heavily on adoption. The location works well if you’re already exploring the Mid-Cities area between Dallas and Fort Worth.
