About Paspatur Market
Fethiye is famous for its beaches and ancient sites like Çalış Beach and the Amyntas Rock Tombs. However, one of its underrated attractions is Paspatur Market in Fethiye’s Old Town. This quaint place serves as a shopping mall, blending the old with the new.
The market is home to a myriad of modern shops offering upscale clothing and accessories. It also has many stands showcasing Turkey’s finest spices and teas.
The prettiest parts of this old town market are the streets adorned with rainbow-hued umbrellas and plants, similar to Molyvos and Petra. They form a colorful canopy over shops and pedestrians, providing shade from the scorching sun. They are the perfect backdrop for Instagram-worthy photos.
Even though Paspatur Market is a shopping destination, I don’t recommend buying anything here, though. Vendors can be importunate, pushing items and drinks into your hands and then overcharging. This might dampen your overall experience. It’s better to politely ignore the vendors and just stroll around and enjoy the picturesque scenery.
However, it’s a good idea to have a drink or grab something to eat in one of the shaded spots. Paspatur is famous for its local delicacies, offering a taste of authentic Turkish culture. You will also find international cuisines and fast food options here.

After you’re done shopping, take a walk along the Fethiye Marina and check out the Gulet boats.
Cats love the Fethiye Marina. You can spot them asking for scraps from fishermen or napping in the shade at one of the many fish restaurants that line the seafront. The further you go from the main section, the more waterfront bars and eateries (and cats) you’ll find.

From Fethiye to Kayaköy
When in Fethiye, I highly recommend visiting the nearby ghost village of Kayaköy. This abandoned village was once inhabited by Greek Orthodox Christians before they left during the population exchange between Greece and Turkey in 1923. Kayaköy is now a historical site and popular tourist attraction, known for its stone houses, churches, and scenic views.
Just outside the entrance to Kayaköy, you’ll find many bars, restaurants, and souvenir shops in a cozy setting. Rokka Restaurant even has a resident cat.
Kayaköy is only a short drive (around 8 kilometers/5 miles) from the Paspatur Market in Old Town Fethiye.
