Don’t Stress Meowt in Oklahoma City opened in 2023 and was the first cat cafe in Oklahoma.

Its mission is unique: to provide a loving, enriching temporary home for cats who might otherwise be overlooked.

The cafe specializes in seniors, clipped-ear cats, and others who have faced challenges and are looking for a second chance at happiness.

These cats have often understated appearances or shy personalities that don’t shine in traditional adoption environments. However, they thrive in the cafe’s welcoming atmosphere.

At Don’t Stress Meowt, you can meet the cats in a relaxed, cage-free setting, giving the animals a chance to let their personalities shine.

Their approach ensures that each adoption is meaningful, offering second chances to cats that need them.

Alongside the feline companionship, Don’t Stress Meowt offers a simple but satisfying menu featuring coffee, tea, and light snacks.

The goal is to create a “happy place” for cats and human visitors. It’s an ideal spot for anyone looking to relax, recharge, and possibly find a new furry friend to take home.

Meow & Mocha Cat Cafe opened in Guthrie in late May 2025.

It’s a spacious two-level cafe and cat lounge located in a restored downtown building that used to be a sports museum.

The owner is a 19-year-old Guthrie native, who created the space to help local rescue cats find homes while giving people a peaceful place to relax with coffee or boba tea.

The café can host around thirty cats at a time, with most being foster cats waiting to be adopted.

A few permanent “resident” cats stay on as ambassadors.

All the cats come from local rescue organizations that handle their vet care, vaccinations, and spay or neuter procedures before they move into the lounge.

Meow & Mocha also hosts small community events such as movie nights, paint-and-sip sessions, and themed gatherings that let people spend more time with the cats.

They also organize occasional adoption drives in partnership with their rescue groups to help the cats find their forever homes.
