Cups and Cats Cafe in Charleston

 

The cat cafe plays host to rescue cats from the Charleston/Kanawha Humane Society, Itty Bitty Kitty Committee, and Dream Away Cat Rescue.

You can visit the cats in a dedicated lounge separate from the cafe area. Feel free to bring your drink along if it has a lid—or simply relax in the cafe and watch the cats through the window if you’d rather keep your distance.

Give Purrs a Chance in Berkeley Springs

 

Give Purrs a Chance is the largest cat cafe in the United States in terms of space and number of adoptable cats. Since opening in May 2017, they’ve proudly found loving homes for more than a thousand cats and kittens.

Partnering with four local rescue groups, the cafe welcomes cats and kittens that have been spayed or neutered and fully vetted. These cats roam freely throughout a charming two-story Victorian home, where they can interact with both visitors and each other while they wait to be adopted.

There’s also a boutique that offers a wide variety of cat-themed merchandise, from ceramics and jewelry to soaps, textiles, and many other unique finds.

Kitty’s Catfe in Fayette County

 

Previously known as Fayette County’s Wonky Ginger Boba & Bubble Tea Cat Cafe, Kitty’s Catfe partnered with the Fayette Regional Humane Society and helped 157 cats find homes in just one year. It is now permanently closed.

 

Mugs ‘N Mittens Cat Cafe in Fairmont

 

Mugs n’ Mittens opened in October 2023 and brings together a warm cafe vibe with a space for adoptable cats. You can sip your drink while watching or hanging out with the cats in a separate, glass-walled room.

In the gift shop, you can find locally designed and handmade goodies like jewelry, art prints, decorations, freeze-dried sweets, and keychains… all with a feline twist!

The owners are also planning to launch a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program to help manage the local stray cat population.
